ABOUT THE PROGRAM
While every Christian is a minister, some are chosen and called by God to lead His people. The pastoral training program (PTP) is the next step for mature Christian leaders who sense there is something greater they are purposed to do. This program will help you accept and develop your calling. Then, you will be released into your calling to serve as a Campus Pastor at Impact Church under the covering of Bishop-Elect De'Andre Salter.
HOW DO I KNOW I'M CALLED TO BE A PASTOR?
No one can tell you when you are called by God, except for Him. Yet, the local church and its pastoral staff is commanded to train and release leaders into their ministry calling (Romans 10:15). God calls mature leaders to pastor. If you are not consistent in attending worship service, tithing, offering your time to serve in ministry, and maturing your spiritual walk, then perhaps the first call you must answer is to become a mature disciple. Then and only then are you ready to walk in a fresh new anointing of pastoral leadership.
PTP will help you develop in four core areas: Call, Character, Competency and Covering. There are eight learning modules and connection points per course which happen in successive order over the course of two years. There are two courses per semester with semesters happening in the Fall and Winter. After completing the Call, Character and Covering modules you will be licensed as a campus pastor. Upon successfully completing the Competency modules you will be ordained at a special service.
You must commit to a greater personal discipline in time-management and a greater spiritual discipline in the way of
theological study, prayer and worship. Most of the coursework is completed using an online learning management system. The lessons are designed to be completed in one hour. You will also connect with Bishop-Elect Salter and your cohorts regularly in person and/or via video conferencing. You will have weekly lessons, assignments and assessments. To gain hands-on experience, you will apprentice, as a pastor in training, in a designated ministry area. Since nearly 50% of pastors are bi-vocational, our success depends on you increasing your commitment and capacity to manage your family, ministry and professional career. Since becoming a bi-vocational pastor is equivalent to having a part-time job where you are working 20 hours a week, you will learn how to do ministry and balance life in excellence.

WHAT ARE THE PREREQUISITES
HOW MUCH DOES THIS COST?
While the program does not have a fixed cost or a tuition fee, all participants are expected to financially honor Bishop-Elect Salter as their covering for the duration of the program. The Bible prescribes that good Elders should receive double honor (1 Timothy 5:17) and that a covering should receive a financial blessing in exchange for a spiritual deposit into your life (1 Corinthians 9:9-12). A leader that does not show generosity for their covering is not spiritually mature enough to lead people, nor do they value the gift Godhas placed in their life. Your generosity will also grant you access to a wealth of spiritual and enrichment resources from Bishop-Elect Salter such as his digital library of preaching notes and sermon archives. This will help you grow in your preaching, teaching and leadership gifts.
